The Shabbos Project is the brainchild of South Africa’s chief rabbi, Warren Goldstein, and it drew most of his country’s 75,000 Jews in its inaugural year. Five years later, it is a global phenomenon, with more than one million Jews participating in communities spanning 1,511 cities and 101 countries.

For the second year, we will host an entire Shabbos experience as part of the Shabbos Project.

3:30 PM – Pre-Shabbos check-In, Refreshments & Mixer

4:00 PM – Concurrent: Youth Program Introduction; Inspirational Candle Lighting with Rochel Goldbaum; The Shabbos Spirit for Men with Rabbi Yaakov Meyer; Mincha/Kabalat Shabbat Service

5:00 PM – Lecha Dodi Singing & Dancing, followed by concurrent programs: “Welcome to Shabbos” Group Singing with Rabbi Menachem Lehrfield; Maariv evening Service

6:00 PM – Shabbos Dinner catered by East Side Kosher Deli with Youth Program interplay

8:00 PM – Concurrent: No Joke: A Rabbi, A Priest and an Imam with Rabbi Daniel Mechanic; Youth Oneg Shabbos Experience

9:00 PM – Oneg Shabbos – After Dinner Experience at the Olesky Residence (5 minutes from Aish)

8:15 AM – Shacharis Morning Service (8:15-10:45)

10:00 AM – Concurrent: Youth Program; “When the Going Gets Tough – Positivity during Challenges” for teen with Rabbi Daniel Mechanic; Judaism 101 with Zev Jacobs;

10:45 AM – Sermon “Real Answers to Hard Questions” with Rabbi Daniel Mechanic

11:15 AM – Shabbos Lunch catered by East Side Kosher Deli with Youth Program interplay

1:00 PM – Concurrent: Youth Program; “Judaism Alive: Creating and Exhilarating Jewish Life” with Rabbi Daniel Mechanic

2:00 PM – Concurrent: Open Dessert Table; Tours of the Mizel Community Mikvah for Women with Vicki Olesky; The Family Feud with Matt Walles; Board Games and Chill Time

4:30 PM – Community Wide Shalosh Seudos – Shabbos Third Meal catered by East Side Kosher Deli

Lodging Options

Local Hosts

We can arrange for you to stay with local households within our community, as available. If you desire a local host, please submit your request with total number of people for whom lodging is needed. We must receive the request for local hosts by October 25.

Hotel

If you are traveling to Aish Denver for The Shabbos Project and need accommodations, we reserved rooms at the Hyatt Place in DTC at a low cost of only $99 per room per night, accommodating up to six guests per room. There are rooms with 2 double beds or 1 king bed, and each room type has a pull out sofa sleeper. Check in is Friday at 3:00 p.m. and Check Out is on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. The hotel will hold personal belongings free of charge until Saturday night, or you may book a second night in the same room for an additional $99. Rooms at the Hyatt through the Aish Denver rate must be booked through Aish Denver in the registration form below.
